We were recently contacted by a client living in a Bognor apartment to repair their internal wooden window frames. The property featured an older internal window system, installed inside the original frames to create a form of double glazing. Over time, the timber had begun to show signs of wear, including minor cracks, peeling paint, and stiffness in operation, affecting both the look and function of the windows.
Our first step was a careful assessment of each internal frame. We identified areas where the timber needed repair, sanding, and sealing to restore stability and ensure smooth operation. Any loose or damaged joints were reinforced, keeping the frame structurally sound while maintaining the original design.
Next, we focused on surface preparation. All old paint and damaged sections were removed, and the timber was sanded down to create a smooth, clean surface ready for finishing. Proper preparation is key to achieving a lasting result and preventing further deterioration.
Once prepared, we applied high-quality paint and sealant suitable for internal timber, ensuring a professional, durable finish. The goal was to restore both the appearance and functionality of the frames, making them easy to open and close while protecting the timber from future wear.
The client was delighted with the result: the windows now operate smoothly, look refreshed, and the repaired frames blend seamlessly with the rest of the apartment’s décor. Small but detailed repairs like these can make a big difference, preserving the lifespan of existing features while improving daily usability.
This project highlights the importance of skilled carpentry and attention to detail in maintaining older properties. From minor timber repairs to restoring functional internal window systems, we ensure every job is completed efficiently and to a high standard, leaving clients with durable, attractive results they can enjoy for years.
