A client in Tangmere asked us to install additional electrical sockets above their kitchen worktop. Their kitchen was functional, but with only the standard sockets, plugging in appliances like kettles, toasters, and coffee machines often meant juggling leads and extension cords. The goal was to make the kitchen safer, more practical, and better suited to everyday use.
We started with an on-site assessment to determine the best locations for the new sockets. Safety and accessibility were the top priorities, ensuring that the installation would comply with electrical standards while keeping wiring tidy and concealed where possible. Once the plan was agreed with the client, we carefully prepared the wall, making sure the surface was ready for clean-cut socket openings.
Next, we ran the wiring and fitted the new double sockets in convenient positions along the worksurface. Care was taken to route cables safely, ensuring the installation looked neat and professional. All connections were tested rigorously to guarantee full functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
Finally, we cleaned the area and checked that the finished sockets blended seamlessly with the kitchen décor. The client was thrilled with the result: appliances could now be used safely and conveniently, without stretching leads or overcrowding a single point.
This project highlights how even small electrical upgrades can significantly improve the usability and safety of a home. Whether it’s adding sockets, upgrading existing ones, or installing new appliances, we ensure every job is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.
