We were contacted by a homeowner in the local area to repair and restore a well-used wooden garden shed. Over time, the shed had begun to show signs of wear, with broken glass panes in the windows, a roof that was peeling and worn, and it was no longer fully weatherproof.

The first issue we addressed was the damaged window panes. The existing glass had cracked and, in some cases, completely broken, leaving the interior exposed to the elements. We carefully removed the remaining glass, prepared the frames, and installed new panes, ensuring a secure and neat fit. This immediately improved both the appearance and functionality of the shed.

Next, we turned our attention to the roof. The old felt covering had deteriorated, allowing water to seep through during wet weather. We stripped back the worn material and replaced it with new, high-quality roofing felt designed to provide long-lasting protection. Care was taken to ensure all edges and joints were properly sealed to prevent future leaks.

In addition to re-felting, we also checked the overall structure of the roof and carried out minor sealing work where needed, helping to extend the life of the shed and keep it fully weatherproof.

Throughout the project, we worked efficiently to minimise disruption while ensuring every detail was completed to a high standard. Outdoor structures like sheds are often overlooked, but regular maintenance and timely repairs can make a big difference in preserving their condition.

The finished result was a fully restored, watertight shed that the client could continue to use with confidence. This project is a great example of how relatively straightforward repairs can significantly improve both the lifespan and usability of garden buildings.
